Take Exit 285, Red Top Mountain then turn left onto Red Top Mountain Road this turns into Old Alabama Road. Continue West through Emerson for approximately 6.1 miles to the red light at the intersection of Douthit Ferry Road. Turn right on Douthit Ferry and drive north. Sam Smith Park is less than 1/2 mile north of the river on the left.

From Interstate 75 Northbound from Atlanta
Take Exit 283 and turn left onto Allatoona Road. Watch for the underpass under US 41. As you enter the town of Emerson, bear left onto Old Alabama Road. Continue West through Emerson for approximately 4.1 miles to the four-way stop intersection of Douthit Ferry Road. Turn right on Douthit Ferry and drive north. Sam Smith Park is less than 1/2 mile north of the river on the left.
From Interstate 75 Southbound from Chattanooga
Bear left off Exit 288 onto Main Street. Continue west through downtown following the signs for GA 113. Bear right as GA 113 becomes West Avenue. Continue west for 1.4 miles to the stoplight at Douthit Ferry Road. Turn left on Douthit Ferry and continue south for 1.5 miles. Sam Smith Park is on the right.
From GA 113 Eastbound from Tayorsville/Dallas
Look for the bridge crossing the Etowah River as you approach Cartersville. The second stoplight after the bridge is Douthit Ferry Road (there is a McDonalds on the corner). Turn right on Douthit Ferry and continue south for 1.5 miles. Sam Smith Park is on the right.
From US 411 Eastbound from Rome
Merge onto US 41 South and continue south approximately 6 miles to the stoplight at Main Street (there is a Taco Bell on the corner). Turn right on Main Street and continue west through downtown following the signs for GA 113. Bear right as GA 113 becomes West Avenue. Continue west for 1.4 miles to the stoplight at Douthit Ferry Road. Turn left on Douthit Ferry and continue south for 1.5 miles. Sam Smith Park is on the right.
